In 1990, the founder of Smiling Eagle Press, Sandi Jerome, sold her first book to Compute! Book, a division of ABC/Capital. Since then, she has written over a dozen books and, in 2004, founded Smiling Eagle Press, which has since expanded to include seven authors, focusing on diversity, particularly in the Young Adult genre. Smiling Eagle focuses on book adaptations for film, Young Adult, and Native American Writers.
