Welcome to Smiling Eagle! Many of you might think that eagles don't smile and screenwriters never "make it" but I think differently. Anybody can be a screenwriter - you only have to do it. I hope this website will help you become a great screenwriter and the bumps that I found in the road will help you avoid many pitfalls. Here's my "to do" list.
1. Buy some good screenwriting software. I've used Movie Magic Screenwriter and Final Draft and I'll try to compare the two - or send you to a website for that.
2. Take a class. If you're in the Portland area, you can't beat Cynthia Whitcomb http://www.cynthiawhitcomb.com/. If you like online classes, try the one at UCLA.http://www.filmprograms.ucla.edu/.
3. Read some books about screenwriting - and again, you can't beat the stuff written by Cynthia.
